Fortnite New Update Released Today

Players are now receiving the Fortnite new update, featuring several adjustments to weapons in Epic’s widely popular battle royale game.

Epic Games has rolled out a new update for Fortnite, introducing various balance changes to specific weapons in the renowned battle royale title. Chapter 5 Season 1 is currently in progress, following the success of the original season that attracted 100 million players to Fortnite in November.

As the Fortnite OG Chapter concludes, Epic Games has introduced three new modes: the rhythm-based Fortnite Festival, a competitive racing mode called Rocket Racing, and the much-anticipated LEGO Fortnite crossover. Despite the focus on these aspects of the game, Epic has taken the opportunity to fine-tune some weapons in the original mode.

The Fortnite new update, currently being distributed to players, encompasses several modifications. These include increased damage for the Ranger Pistol, Shield Breaker EMP, and Ballistic Shield pistol, along with a boosted magazine size for the Thunder Burst SMG. Additionally, the Striker AR undergoes a reduction in power, while the Reaper Sniper sees a decrease in its spawn rate, reflecting the rebalancing efforts by Epic Games.

The Fortnite new update brings more than just adjustments to weapons; it also introduces changes to medallions. In this new patch, medallions now have the ability to replenish a gamer’s shield to a greater extent based on the quantity held. However, to balance this stacking effect and ensure that one or two medallions do not fully refill the shield, the Fortnite new update includes a modification. Equipping one or two medallions will no longer result in a 100% shield refill, and there is now an extended delay before the shield begins the refilling process.

Following the triumph of the Fortnite OG season, Epic Games is maintaining its momentum. The recently launched Fortnite Festival mode made its debut on December 9, and there are hints of a guitar-shaped controller potentially arriving in Fortnite as early as January 2024. PDP, the team responsible for producing plastic peripherals for Rock Band 4, has teased this upcoming controller.
