The chapter commences with the Elders expressing their intent to eliminate Boruto, convinced that he plotted to harm Kawaki. Despite Shikamaru’s efforts to persuade them otherwise, the Elders remain steadfast in their stance. Pressing Shikamaru to assume the responsibilities of the 8th Hokage permanently, the Elders stand firm in their decision. Recognizing the futility of his attempts to sway them, Shikamaru seeks out Ino for assistance.
In a meeting with Ino, Shikamaru requests specific documents, but Ino, utilizing telepathy, is already aware that he intends to procure something clandestinely. Although Shikamaru expresses a desire to converse with Ino discreetly, ensuring no one else overhears, Ino hesitates, citing her inability to violate rules. Undeterred, Shikamaru issues an ultimatum, asserting that unless Ino complies with his request, he will cease communication with her.
Meanwhile, on a separate front, Eida discloses to Kawaki that Shinju devised a plan to harm Naruto. Before she can reveal that they are also targeting her, Eida realizes that Kawaki’s primary concern is for the well-being of the 7th Hokage, showing a lack of interest in her own predicament.
