The One Piece Episode 1088 Recap
The episode commenced on Amazon Lily, where the successful rescue of Hancock by Rayleigh was revealed. In a flashback, it unfolded that Blackbeard had restrained Hancock, who proposed a deal: if he released her and left the island, she would restore his crew to normal. Blackbeard, however, harbored doubts, fearing that Hancock might turn him to stone if she regained her powers.
At this point, Rayleigh intervened, using his Haki. He requested Hancock to release the Navy soldiers and Blackbeard’s crew, instructing both groups to depart.
Simultaneously, at Kamabakka Queendom, Koala was distressed by the news of Sabo supposedly murdering King Cobra. Adding to her concerns, Dragon declared that he wouldn’t forgive Sabo if the news turned out to be true.
Sabo reached out to Koala, expressing his regret for the chaos he had caused. It was revealed that the Marines were tracing the call to determine his location.
Elsewhere, Luffy and his crew were astonished by the news of Sabo’s alleged crime. Still reeling from Vivi’s disappearance, Luffy wanted to head to Alabasta and Marie Geois immediately. Zoro, however, advised against venturing into enemy territory, reminding Luffy not to underestimate Vivi, similar to how he had not underestimated Ace.
After regaining composure, Luffy asserted Sabo’s innocence, emphasizing his determination to liberate everyone. He then shared his dream with the crew, withholding the details from the viewers. Although the crew found the dream seemingly impossible and laughed at the idea, Luffy hinted that it might become achievable once he became the King of the Pirates.
