The director of Lies of P, Ji Won Choi, has tantalized fans with a glimpse of an upcoming DLC for the Soulslike action RPG. This DLC will mark the first downloadable content expansion for Lies of P, extending the journey of Pinocchio as he navigates the city of Krat in his quest to become human.

Back in September 2023, South Korean game development studio Neowiz made a significant impact on the Soulslike gaming genre with the release of Lies of P, an action RPG that reimagines the tale of Pinocchio in a dark and gritty setting. The game’s distinctive environment and intricate gameplay struck a chord with players, propelling Lies of P to commercial success, with over a million copies sold within a month of its launch. It now ranks among the top Soulslike titles, alongside well-known games such as Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, Remnant: From the Ashes, and the recent release Lords of the Fallen.

Director Ji Won Choi recently shared an extensive video, lasting over eight minutes, to offer insights into the future of Lies of P. Among the revelations were details about the game’s maiden DLC and the forthcoming patch. Expressing gratitude to the game’s dedicated fan base for its resounding success, Choi disclosed Neowiz’s ongoing efforts to develop an upcoming DLC for the Soulslike action RPG. While specific DLC content details remained under wraps, he did provide some sketches from the upcoming expansion. In the video, Choi emphasized the team’s unwavering commitment to DLC development and the ongoing work on a sequel.

Beyond the enigmatic Lies Of P Teases First DLC Expansion, Choi also disclosed information about a patch slated for release in November. This update will enhance weapon balance, affording players a more fulfilling experience with the Weapon Assemble system, and enabling custom weapon crafting. The November patch aims to reduce the early-game difficulty level by bestowing Pinocchio with the Rising Dodge ability as a default skill, removing the need to unlock it via the skill tree.

To support the ongoing development and expansion of the Lies of P universe, Neowiz is actively recruiting additional team members. The studio also unveiled a crossover initiative between Lies of P and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, introducing the Puppet’s Saber and the Etiquette to Team Ninja’s action RPG. Moreover, Neowiz revealed its plans to release a comprehensive soundtrack collection, featuring more than 60 tracks from Lies of P, providing players with a musical backdrop as they await further revelations about the game’s impending DLC.
