Fortnite Big Bang Live Event Recap: Concert, LEGO Mode & More

The highly anticipated Eminem concert marked the conclusion of Fortnite Big Bang live event, offering players an array of fresh and thrilling gameplay. Despite the destruction of the original map, a recap is provided here for those who may have missed the experience.

Fortnite’s Chapter 4 reached its culmination with the eagerly awaited Big Bang live event, a highlight for players throughout the past month. To secure a spot to witness rap icon Eminem’s performance and explore new content, a massive number of players joined the event playlist well in advance.

Due to server overload, some players were unexpectedly removed from the game. In response, Epic assured the player community that two additional event showings would follow the initial one. Nevertheless, those who were fortunate enough to attend the first show expressed their delight, emphasizing the epic nature of the live performance.

OG Map Gets Destroyed

The spectacle commenced with the Dusty Divot Rocket ascending into the sky and entering a rift. A collision occurred with the meteor, generating a rift in its path. Subsequently, multiple missiles emerged from the rift, targeting the meteor until it vanished.

The meteor reappeared through a sky rift, breaking through structures such as the Loot Lake house and Kevin the Cube, ultimately penetrating the Zero Point, reminiscent of Chapter 1 Season X. As the original map faded into a black vortex, the Zero Point descended, subsuming the entire island once again.

LEGO Open World Game Mode

Following months of eager anticipation and numerous hints, Epic Games has at last provided players with entry to the LEGO game mode, thrusting them into an unexpected open world. Upon stepping into this blocky universe, players underwent a transformation into LEGO characters, equipped to navigate the entire island by gliding.

Within this realm, they had the opportunity to witness fellow characters engaged in construction, battles, driving, and even encounters with formidable creatures. The gameplay showcased how the upcoming LEGO mode will offer players an entirely new Battle Royale island experience, converting familiar Fortnite outfits into blocky iterations.

Rocket Racing Mode

The next stop in Fortnite’s expanding universe is Psyonix’s Rocket League. Fortnite has revealed details about its upcoming Rocket Racing mode, offering players the opportunity to race circuits using their Rocket League vehicles.

Players kickstarted the experience by hopping onto a vehicle and employing distinctive abilities as the car navigated through a racing track. Among the capabilities were Drift Boost, Thruster Usage, Air Dodge, culminating in activating Turbo NOS for their vehicles.

As the race unfolded, the winning car catapulted the players into an alternate universe.

Fortnite Festival Mode Eminem Concert

Transported to an alternate universe, players found themselves within a concert arena, treated to a performance of “Lose Yourself” by Eminem’s Slim Shady persona. Shortly after, a Guitar Hero-like interface emerged, prompting players to match the beats and rhythm of the song by pressing buttons across a grid.

This experience served as an exclusive glimpse of the upcoming Fortnite Festival mode, a collaborative effort with Harmonix, the renowned music game developer behind Rock Band. The Festival mode will showcase various artists, with The Weeknd set to be among the featured acts.

Following the gameplay, a colossal Marshall Never More persona of Eminem ascended in the concert arena, delivering a rap performance of the hit song “Godzilla.” Amidst a fiery environment, immersed players enjoyed the concert experience.

As the performance concluded, players were transported back to the multiverse, this time landing in front of the new island for Chapter 5 Season 1. Here, players have the option to exit the game after a brief three-minute delay.
