Everyone is undoubtedly acquainted with the name Eiichiro Oda, the mastermind behind the longest-running animanga series, One Piece. Another exciting project from this mangaka is set to grace our screens next year through a new Eiichiro Oda’s Monsters Anime.
Before the introduction of the pirate-themed epic One Piece, the skilled mangaka delved into a one-shot manga titled Monsters in 1994. Interestingly, this one-shot holds canonical significance to the renowned series, incorporating numerous characters from the same fantastical world.
Monsters revolves around Ryuma, a character who is introduced as a zombie during One Piece’s Thriller Bark Arc. The intriguing aspect lies in the transformation of a character initially portrayed as a half-dead creature into the protagonist of an upcoming anime.
The standalone manga initially saw publication in the Autumn Special edition of Shonen Jump Magazine in 1994. Get ready for a new adventure as Eiichiro Oda’s Monsters takes center stage in the realm of anime next year.
Eiichiro Oda’s Monsters Anime Will Arrive in 2024
The official announcement of the Eiichiro Oda’s Monsters anime adaptation took place on One Piece Day 2023, alongside the significant revelation of Luffy’s Gear 5 debut in the anime. Subsequently, on November 29, 2023, news surfaced indicating that Eiichiro Oda’s Monsters anime is slated for release in 2024, though the exact date remains unknown.
Alongside the release timeframe, it was disclosed that the anime is in development by E&H Animation Studio, with direction and composition under the helm of Sunghoo Park. Notably, Park, renowned for directing Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 and Jujutsu Kaisen 0, provides reassurance regarding the direction of Monsters.
Although the anime is eagerly anticipated, the precise release date is still awaited by Oda’s fans. The announcement, which coincided with X, has already been hailed as a peak by the fandom, with many expressing anticipation and cheering for the acclaimed Mangaka, Eiichiro Oda, and the accomplished director Sunghoo Park.
Despite the excitement, some fans have voiced concerns about Park’s workload, with one tweet expressing, “Sunghoo Park is working on three projects right now; what a goat. Hope he isn’t stretching himself too thin.”
Observing the fervor within the animanga community, it’s evident that Monsters is poised to receive the same adoration that Oda’s One Piece has garnered over the years.
