Warner Bros. Japan unveiled a new teaser trailer for the Suicide Squad anime on Friday, December 1. The teaser showcased key details, including the main cast, visuals, and information about the theme song. Additionally, it confirmed that the Suicide Squad ISEKAI anime is slated for release in 2024.
The collaboration between Warner Bros. Japan and WIT Studio to create an anime based on DC Comics was initially announced in July. This partnership gave rise to the conception of the Suicide Squad ISEKAI anime. The narrative for the anime is penned by the original creators of Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song, namely Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara.
Suicide Squad Anime Reveals New Trailer & Key Visuals
On December 1st, Warner Bros. Japan and WIT Studio jointly unveiled a fresh teaser trailer for the upcoming Suicide Squad anime. The teaser solidified the anime’s scheduled release for 2024, although it withheld information regarding the specific quarter of its airing.
The anime’s opening theme, titled “Another World,” is set to be performed by Tomoyasu Hotei.
In the teaser trailer, Harley Quinn extends an invitation to The Joker, as the Suicide Squad anime embarks on a journey to an alternate world. The team, comprised of Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface, and King Shark, is dispatched on a mission to an otherworldly realm by A.R.G.U.S. director Amanda Waller.
As the squad progresses on their explosive-laden mission, it becomes apparent that they are confronting a seemingly insurmountable challenge.
Accompanying the teaser, the anime unveiled visuals showcasing the five team members, which have been amalgamated to create the anime’s new primary visual.
The series also disclosed the voice cast for the characters. Anna Nagase is set to voice Harley Quinn, having previously lent her voice to Riko Amanai in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 and Mahoro in the MAPPA original anime Bucchigiri?!
Yuichiro Umehara will be portraying The Joker, recognized for his previous roles as Jugram Haschwalth in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War and Goblin Slayer in the eponymous anime.
Meanwhile, Reigo Yamaguchi and Takehito Koyasu will provide the voices for Deadshot and Peacemaker, respectively. Yamaguchi, known for his roles in anime such as Dr. Stone and Platinum End, takes on the role of Deadshot. Koyasu, with a background of voicing characters like Zeke Yeager in Attack on Titan and Shinsuke Takasugi in Gintama, brings Peacemaker to life.
Jun Fukuyama and Subaru Kimura are set to voice Clayface and King Shark, respectively. Fukuyama, recognized for his roles as Finral Roulacase in Black Clover and King in The Seven Deadly Sins, takes on the role of Clayface. Kimura, known for portraying Tendo Satori in Haikyuu!! and Gian in the Doraemon franchise, lends his voice to King Shark.
