However, the story takes an unexpected turn, transporting Sam to another world teeming with prehistoric creatures and dinosaurs. To survive and return to Earth, Sam must now battle these ancient foes. The trailer not only features realistic dinosaurs but also introduces humanoid creatures, indicating a departure from strict realism. Players can expect fast-paced, gory combat employing a diverse array of weapons.
TeamKill Media, the developers behind the game, previously released Quantum Error in 2023, a cosmic horror title that received a lukewarm reception with a MetaCritic score of 40. With Son and Bone, the American studio aims for a rebound, and the promising trailer suggests a potential turnaround.
While Quantum Error was initially intended as a PlayStation exclusive before later including Xbox and PC, Son and Bone seems set to remain a PS5 exclusive. This game represents a significant deviation from other popular dinosaur-themed titles like Ark: Survival Evolved and Path of Titans. Unlike the latter, an MMO where players control a dinosaur through various life stages, Son and Bone offers a more fast-paced experience, appealing to fans of the prehistoric era with a taste for swift, action-oriented gameplay.
