Certain fan posts claim that the Mahoraga vs. Sukuna fight was borrowed from My Hero Academia Season 1, while another asserts that the Yuji vs. Mahito clash was plagiarized from The Raid 2.
In response to these accusations, an Jujutsu Kaisen animator expressed frustration on social media, emphasizing the challenges of generating entirely new ideas due to time constraints and the substantial quantity and detailing required in animated TV shows. The Jujutsu Kaisen animator clarified that they drew inspiration and references from other anime shows, a common practice in the entertainment industry, and emphasized that referencing does not equate to copying.
