Hunter X Hunter Author Reveals Mangas Ending

The Hunter x Hunter manga, known for its sporadic hiatuses due to the author’s health concerns, recently had Yoshihiro Togashi addressing the audience in a revealing interview. Unfortunately, the latest update shared in the interview doesn’t bring favorable news for the dedicated fandom.

Since its inception in 1998, Hunter x Hunter has garnered immense popularity, but the release schedule has been inconsistent since 2006 due to Togashi’s declining health. Despite the manga experiencing numerous breaks, the devoted fanbase remains steadfast in their interest.

While the series has been a source of entertainment for an extended period, Togashi’s worsening health prompted him to contemplate several ending ideas, details of which he disclosed in his latest interview. Although the official release of the interview is scheduled for November 21, 2023, leaks have already surfaced on social media, providing insights into what transpired.

Hunter X Hunter Author Reveals Mangas Ending In Case He Passes Away

Togashi has envisioned three distinct endings for Hunter x Hunter, labeled A, B, and C. In discussing these conclusions, the author revealed that the initial ending, labeled A, is anticipated to be appreciated by 50% of the fandom while disliked by 20%. Although Togashi considers this response less than ideal, he expressed relief if the work can achieve this level of reception. Ending B is projected to have an equal divide between those who like and dislike it, while Ending C is expected to disappoint the majority of fans, with only 10% finding satisfaction. Intriguingly, this isn’t the end of the story.

In an attempt to avoid committing to any of the outlined scenarios, Togashi has also crafted an alternative ending, D, which he has decided not to use. However, he expresses a desire for the series to adopt this ending in the unfortunate event that he is unable to provide a proper conclusion to the story.

While Togashi refrained from delving into the specifics of Endings A, B, and C, he surprisingly disclosed the plot of the discarded Ending D. As it won’t be utilized, there’s no risk of spoiling the story for the fandom. In this alternative conclusion, a girl, identified as the granddaughter of Gon, stands near a lake, aiming to hunt the Lake Lord. After successfully lifting the Lake Lord, she requests her mother to stop pressuring her to become a hunter. The narrative also involves Jin, who currently wishes to remain on the island with his family. The ending envisions Gon as a formidable hunter, introducing new characters to the storyline.
