Leaked information about the upcoming Dragon Ball Daima anime has surfaced, providing insights into what fans can anticipate in the inaugural episode.
Dragon Ball is making its anime comeback, but it diverges from being a direct continuation of Dragon Ball Super, contrary to some fans’ expectations. New details have emerged ahead of its scheduled release in Fall 2024.
During New York Comic Con, Toei unveiled the first trailer for Dragon Ball Daima anime, confirming the return of kid Goku and triggering immediate comparisons to GT. Unlike GT, however, series creator Akira Toriyama is actively involved in the project. This new anime has been in the works for an extensive period, boasting over four years of production time. Now, fresh information is circulating about Daima, with the completion of the first episode drawing near.
Dragon Ball Daima Anime Leaks Reveal New Story Details
Details about Dragon Ball Daima anime have surfaced, courtesy of DBZ YouTuber Geekdom101, who has a track record of accurately revealing information about the anime prior to its official announcement.
Geekdom reports that a substantial portion of Daima’s first episode was showcased in the reveal trailer, highlighting a notable animation shift early in the episode. Allegedly, the episode will commence with vintage Dragon Ball Z-style art, evoking the beloved appearance of the classic 90s era. However, it will progressively transition to a more contemporary style akin to Dragon Ball Super Broly.
According to Geekdom, the plot involves two unidentified villains placing a curse on Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, and other protagonists, reverting them to their child forms. Attempting to break the curse using the Dragon Balls proves futile as it originates from the demon realm.
This predicament prompts Goku and the Supreme Kai to embark on the inaugural arc of Daima, exploring new locations, encountering fresh characters, and seeking a solution to reverse the curse.
Notably, Daima will incorporate elements of blood, a departure from the predominantly bloodless portrayal in DBS. This divergence is attributed to the series being a streaming anime rather than airing on television.
In an interesting revelation, Geekdom points out that Toriyama is actively approving and editing the scripts for the series, ensuring that the show aligns more closely with his vision, in contrast to production challenges faced by Super.
