Insomniac Games, the developers of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, has reportedly fallen victim to a hacker group known as Rhysidia. The group claims to have breached the game developer’s security and subsequently released new information regarding the upcoming Wolverine Game Details.
Rhysidia, recognized for its involvement in ransomware activities, is said to have seized the stolen data and is offering it for sale. In addition to details about the forthcoming Wolverine game details, the hacker group has purportedly obtained private staff information, including passport photos of Insomniac Games’ employees.
In response to this security breach, Sony, the parent company of Insomniac Games, has taken action. The company has initiated its own investigation to ascertain the extent of the breach, assess its implications for both employees and players and determine the appropriate course of action.
Insomniac Wolverine Game Details Has Been Leaked
The leak was brought to light this morning as Rhysidia declared their successful hacking of Insomniac, revealing Wolverine game details and accessing private staff information.
In substantiation of their claim, the group shared a snapshot, character artwork, and a passport scan of an employee as limited online data.
Rhysidia is purportedly offering the entirety of their pilfered data for sale at 50 BTC, equivalent to $2 million, and has set a seven-day deadline for the transaction. After this period, they intend to make the information public.
Sony has promptly addressed the reports of the security breach with their own statement, stating, “We are aware of reports that Insomniac Games has been the victim of a cyber security attack. We are currently investigating this situation. We have no reason to believe that any other SIE or Sony divisions have been impacted.”
The prevalence of cyber attacks is on the rise, with the previous year witnessing the theft and disclosure of substantial information about GTA 6. Some of the perpetrators have faced legal consequences, yet one remains a threat, expressing intentions to commit more crimes upon release.
